Especially for the Holidays, the White House published a 360° video on YouTube, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Unfortunately, YouTube only supports VR video for Android and so users of iOS devices are left out in the ‘Christmas cold’. Well, not on our watch and certainly not with Christmas!

VR Video for both iOS and Android

We’ve posted the 360° video on our web-based VR platform, VRapp.co (no download needed). There, anyone can experience this thoughtful Christmas gift from the American government. We make VR accessible for anyone, both iOS and Android. Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to VRapp.co/whitehouse/christmas-2015 (no download needed)
  2. For Android: Enter the White House with any Android device, from at least KitKat.
  3. For iOS: Please follow this little workaround –> Choose “Add to Home Screen/Voeg toe aan beginscherm (NL)” in the share menu of Safari, to enable VR video on your iOS device. (Currently, we are working hard on an update for a better user-experience.)
  4. Travel directly to the White House, without moving!

<iframe style="border: 0px #FFFFFF none; width: 100vw; height: 56.25vw; min-height: 320px;" src="https://vrapp.co/whitehouse/christmas-2015/first-ever-tour" name=“vrapp.co" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The VR video takes you on a guided tour through The White House. Especially for Christmas, the official residence of President Obama has been completely decorated in “Christmas style”. Aside from visual treats, this Christmas gift also includes a voiceover which tells historical facts about the White House. Enough said, time to experience!

Happy Holidays!
