We’re proud to present a new feature of VRapp.co! This new feature uses Points of Interest (POI) which make VR interactive. Viewers can now, from the VR Bubble they’re (virtually) at, navigate freely through VR Tours. In this series of blogposts about this latest feature, we would like to show you possible ways of why/how/when to use it. In this blogpost: real estate.

Navigate freely through Points of Interest

When you step into a virtual world and look around, you have to find your way in this world. We are used to click, scroll, swipe or tap to trigger an action but you can leave that all behind in VR. From now on, it’s possible to freely navigate in VR, just by looking at a Point of interest (POI). A POI can contain any information, a picture and a button to go to the next point of view. Just look at the small circle, and more relevant information appears. The viewer then can decide whether to travel to that next VR Bubble or just hang around. Points of Interest (POIs) can be added wherever you like inside a VR Bubble (photo or video). In the first blogpost in this series – Interactive VR Tours: Rotterdam Citytour -, we described the essentials of this new feature and how it can be used informative and entertaining in the tourism industry. But Interactive VR is not just applicable for fun and tourists. The possibilities are endless!

Why is it interesting to use VR in real-estate?

From now on you are able to let people VRisit – virtual reality visit – a house, and make a selection before they physically go to the place. So instead of going around all over town, you can narrow the search down and only go to the residences, people really want to see. Or how about people can pre-visit their holiday destination and get into their vacation mood, before they take off. And after their holiday, the can share their vistas to their friends and family. Together with our branded VR goggles, your name will be spread all over the place. We also analyse the time they spend in your VR environments, so you can track engagement and behaviour anonymously via Google Analytics. We believe POIs can make a really immersive tour of a house so it’s like you can actually walk through your future house. Even before it’s been built. Or enjoy the view at your holiday destination as if you were standing on the balcony. Instead of physically visit the apartments you like, you VRisit the residence of your dreams, from the comfort of your own home. Try it yourself! Walk through the apartment below (bottom of the page) and look around as if you were actually there.

How does Interactive VR work?

By looking at the POI at the balcony, additional information is presented to the visitor. The viewer can go to the balcony, just by gazing at the Go to > button for 1 second. POIs present information The Points of Interest in this example can be used to add practical information, like:
  • dimensions of rooms
  • whether certain furniture or items in rooms are included or not (the floor, curtains e.g.)

  • kind of material of which certain interior is made (bathroom, kitchen, floor e.g.)
  • other unique selling poinst of the rooms
